Brian’s life was celebrated in a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Reverend Joe Steinbeisser led the congregation in honoring Brian’s memory, and he was laid to rest in the church cemetery. Prior to the service, family and friends gathered for a one-hour visitation at the church. The arrangements were thoughtfully handled by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.

Born on January 11, 1957, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Brian Lee Kaufenberg was the cherished son of Vernon and Yvonne (Callewart) Kaufenberg. He embarked on his educational journey at St. Aloysius Catholic School and later graduated from Olivia High School in 1975. His thirst for knowledge led him to Willmar Vo-Tech College, where he pursued studies in social work, a path that would reflect his enduring commitment to helping others.

In 1978, Brian embarked on a new journey in life, one that would become a cornerstone of his identity. He exchanged vows with Susan Hertling at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, a sacred union that was blessed with the arrival of two beloved sons. Brian and Susan’s marriage was marked by love, respect, and the values they shared.
